Professor Sheila Bedford teaches financial accounting, managerial and intermediate accounting, corporate financial reporting, and financial statement analysis at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has extensive industry accounting experience in the real estate field, served in senior financial management roles with Marriott International, and served as the controller for The Golf Academy LLC. Her responsibilities in industry have included financial reporting and analysis, strategic planning and budgeting, implementation of accounting policies and controls, and the valuation of acquisition opportunities and financing programs. She began her career in public accounting with Ernst & Whinney. Bedford currently serves as the chair of University Committee on Learning Assessment and as a member of Faculty Senate. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
